Lowy Institute

The Lowy Institute was founded in April 2003 by Frank Lowy, a prominent Australian businessman of Hungarian-Jewish heritage who built the Westfield shopping centre empire. Lowy established the institute with a personal endowment, drawing on his experiences as an immigrant and his conviction that Australia needed a dedicated institution to analyze global strategic, political, and economic issues.
