Lips Are Movin

Released on October 21, 2014, the track Lips Are Movin arrived as the second single from Meghan Trainor's debut major-label album Title. The song follows her breakthrough hit All About That Bass and maintains a distinct retro aesthetic by blending modern pop hooks with doo-wop rhythms and blue-eyed soul textures reminiscent of the 1950s. Trainor co-wrote the piece with producer Kevin Kadish, adapting a personal experience involving a dishonest coworker into a narrative about romantic deception to appeal to a broader audience.

The production features a walking bassline, handclaps, and vocal harmonies that evoke a vintage feel while retaining contemporary clarity. Commercially the record proved just as potent as its predecessor, climbing to number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning quadruple platinum certification in the United States for sales exceeding four million units. It also reached number one on the official charts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. [edit]
