Lionel Richie's list of accolades is staggering. He is one of the few artists to have won a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Golden Globe. His nine number one hits in nine consecutive years is a music business record that still stands. In 2022 alone, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, received the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress, and was honored with the American Music Awards Icon Award. He also holds a Guinness World Record for his consecutive chart-topping streak. These honors reflect not just commercial success but deep respect from peers and institutions.
