Records
Letitia James has achieved several historic firsts in New York politics. She is the first Black person and first Black woman to serve as New York State Attorney General, and the first African American woman elected to citywide office in New York City. Her office has recovered over $1.5 billion from opioid manufacturers and distributors, and she secured a landmark $454 million judgment against Donald Trump. She has been recognized with honorary degrees from Lehman College and Medgar Evers College for her contributions to law and public service.
