Layover

V steps into the solo spotlight with Layover, a six-track extended play that blends pop, R&B, and jazz into a smooth sonic tapestry. Released on September 8, 2023, through Big Hit Music, the project showcases his distinct vocal textures across tracks like "Slow Dancing" and "Love Me Again." The EP includes a piano version of its title track and features accompanying music videos for most songs, with the "Slow Dancing" clip arriving just days after the initial drop.

Commercially, the release shattered expectations by moving over 1.67 million copies in its opening day alone, setting a new benchmark for first-day sales by any solo K-pop artist. This momentum propelled the record to number two on both the Billboard Japan Hot Albums and Oricon Albums charts, while securing a spot at number two on the US Billboard 200 with 100,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week.
