Laurent Nkunda

Laurent Nkunda's legacy is defined by his military and rebel activities rather than awards. He is known for leading the CNDP and his role in the Kivu conflict, which had significant humanitarian consequences. While he presented himself as a protector of the Tutsi community, his actions led to widespread displacement and human rights abuses. His notoriety stems from his impact on the region, not from any formal honors.
