LaFerrari

Ferrari's LaFerrari, internally codenamed F150, is a limited-production hybrid hypercar that serves as the brand's ultimate road-going statement. It pairs a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine with a 120 kW electric motor, producing a combined 950 horsepower. The car's name, Italian for "The Ferrari," underscores its ambition to be the definitive Ferrari of its era. Only 499 coupes were built, all sold before public unveiling, with a starting price of around $1.4 million. A subsequent Aperta convertible variant added 200 more units. The LaFerrari received widespread acclaim for its engineering and driving dynamics, often cited as one of the greatest hypercars of the 2010s.

The HY-KERS system, derived from Scuderia Ferrari's Formula One program, stores energy in a 60 kg lithium-ion battery pack and provides both a performance boost and limited electric-only driving. The carbon-fiber monocoque weighs just 70 kg, contributing to a dry weight of 1,585 kg. Active aerodynamics with movable front and rear flaps adjust downforce in real time. Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes (398 mm front, 380 mm rear) provide stopping power, while Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (265/30 front, 345/30 rear) keep the car planted.

The LaFerrari was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and deliveries began later that year. Ferrari's invitation-only sales process meant only its most loyal customers could purchase one. The car has since become a collector's item, with values tripling to over $4 million for coupes and $5 million for Apertas. It marked the end of Ferrari's line of naturally aspirated V12 hypercars before the switch to turbocharged powertrains.[edit]
