La Hiedra

Natalia Durán Bazadoni enters the wrestling world under the name La Hiedra, a moniker meaning The Ivy. Born on May 18, 1997, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, she carries the bloodline of her father, Sangre Chicana, making her a second-generation talent. She currently signs with WWE while performing primarily for their sister promotion, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Her career has seen her rise to prominence within the chaotic and colorful landscape of Mexican lucha libre, where she found a permanent home alongside her tag team partners.

As of 2026, La Hiedra stands as one of the most dominant heels in the women's division. She holds the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with partner Laredo Kid and serves as a core member of the villainous stable Las Tóxicas. Her aggressive style and cunning storytelling have made her a central figure in major AAA storylines, including high-profile feuds against top stars like Stephanie Vaquer and Faby Apache. [edit]

Natalia Durán Bazadoni was born into a wrestling dynasty in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. Her father, Sangre Chicana, is a legendary luchador who spent decades in the ring, providing Natalia with an education that started long before any formal training academy could offer. Growing up in the family business meant she absorbed the traditions of lucha libre from a young age, watching matches and learning the ropes in the chaotic environment of AAA arenas.

Unlike many wrestlers who begin in structured schools, Durán Bazadoni learned by doing. She honed her craft in local independent promotions around Nuevo Laredo, often facing skepticism regarding her lineage and skill level. Critics initially dismissed her as a nepotism pick, but she proved them wrong through years of grinding work on the regional circuit. She adopted the ring name "La Hiedra" to symbolize her ability to grow, entangle opponents, and persist despite being doubted by critics.

Her early career was defined by a slow build. Before achieving mainstream recognition, she spent years refining her technical skills and developing a persona that blended traditional Mexican wrestling values with a modern, ruthless edge. This period of struggle in the shadows prepared her for the moment she would step into the spotlight as a key player in AAA's women's division. [edit]

La Hiedra's career trajectory shifted dramatically when she joined the full-time roster of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Initially struggling against established stars, she gained traction through her work in tag teams. By 2021, she had formed the core of the faction Las Tóxicas alongside Flammer and later Lady Shani. This marked her transition from a mid-carder to a central figure in AAA's women's division.

In 2022, she became a staple in major AAA storylines, engaging in long-running feuds with Stephanie Vaquer and Faby Apache. These rivalries showcased her ability to draw heat from crowds and establish herself as a top-tier villain. In 2023, she signed with WWE, beginning a dual presence between AAA and WWE programming, though her primary activity remained in Mexico.

Her success continued to climb in 2024 and 2025 as she solidified her status as a top-tier heel in AAA, winning multiple tag team titles and establishing dominance in the women's division. In June 2026, she achieved historic success by winning the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with partner Laredo Kid at Verano de Escándalo. She remains a key player in the ongoing "Worlds Collide" narrative and is actively pursuing the AAA Women's Championship. [edit]

La Hiedra is portrayed as a cunning, aggressive, and technically skilled wrestler. Her image is that of the "Queen of Scandal" (*Reina del Escándalo*), a moniker she embraces. She is often depicted as ruthless and unapologetic, traits that have made her a fan favorite in the villain role. Her aesthetic includes a distinctive mask and colorful attire, typical of AAA's vibrant style.

Known for eliciting extreme reactions from the crowd, she often draws loud boos when she enters the ring, a testament to her effective heel persona. Her in-ring style is fast-paced, utilizing high-flying moves and technical grappling. She maintains a strong social media presence, using platforms like Instagram and X to promote events and interact with fans. [edit]

Despite being a masked wrestler, La Hiedra has never unmasked in a luchas de apuestas (bet match) loss, maintaining her identity as a mystery. Her father, Sangre Chicana, was a pioneer in the 1990s, and Natalia often cites his work ethic as her primary motivation. The name "La Hiedra" translates to "The Ivy," symbolizing her ability to cling to opponents and survive difficult situations. She is fluent in both Spanish and English, allowing her to navigate both the Mexican and American wrestling markets seamlessly.

One of the most infamous storylines in modern AAA history involved the harassment of Stephanie Vaquer. La Hiedra, along with Las Tóxicas, relentlessly harassed Vaquer, leading to a physical confrontation that drew massive crowds. This arc cemented La Hiedra as a top-tier villain. In 2026, defeating Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana to win the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles with Laredo Kid was a historic moment, marking the first time a woman held this specific title in conjunction with a male partner in the modern era.
