La bicicleta

"La Bicicleta" is a 2016 collaboration between Colombian superstars Carlos Vives and Shakira. Released on May 27, 2016, as the lead single from Vives' album Vives, the song blends vallenato, pop, and reggaeton, featuring traditional Colombian wind instruments and accordions. Written by both artists and Andrés Castro, and produced with Luis Fernando Ochoa, it marked Shakira's first duet with a fellow Colombian. The nostalgic lyrics describe a bike ride through childhood haunts. Critics praised its catchiness and cultural authenticity. The track won two Latin Grammy Awards: Song of the Year and Record of the Year. It later appeared on Shakira's album El Dorado (2017). Commercially, it hit No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs and topped Latin Pop Airplay. The music video, directed by Jaume de Laiguana and filmed in Barranquilla and Santa Marta, shows Shakira and Vives biking along the Caribbean coast, dancing with locals. It won Video of the Year at Premio lo Nuestro 2017. A remix featuring Maluma dropped in August 2016. [edit]
