Kushida is celebrated as one of the most accomplished junior heavyweights in NJPW history. His six IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship reigns are a record for the title, and his two Best of the Super Juniors victories place him among an elite group. He is the only wrestler to have won the Best of the Super Juniors, Super J-Cup, and Pro Wrestling World Cup, a triple crown of NJPW junior tournaments. His technical innovation and match quality have earned him multiple five-star ratings from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

AwardsKushida has won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship six times and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship four times. He is a two-time Best of the Super Juniors winner (2015, 2017), a Super J-Cup winner (2016), and a Pro Wrestling World Cup winner (2017). In WWE, he held the NXT Cruiserweight Championship once.
