Kung Fu Panda

Po is a roly-poly panda who works in his adoptive father Mr. Ping's noodle shop, but dreams of something far bigger. He idolizes the Furious Five, a legendary team of kung fu warriors who protect the Valley of Peace under the guidance of Master Shifu and the wise Master Oogway. When the ancient tortoise sage has a vision that the villainous Tai Lung will escape from prison, he declares it is time to choose the Dragon Warrior, the prophesied hero destined to wield the legendary Dragon Scroll.

In a spectacular twist of fate, Po crashes into the middle of the selection ceremony and is chosen as the Dragon Warrior, much to the shock and dismay of everyone, including himself. The Furious Five are outraged, and Master Shifu is determined to drive the clumsy panda away. But as Tai Lung's escape becomes reality, Po must undergo a grueling training journey that forces him to confront his own insecurities. With the fate of the valley hanging in the balance, Po discovers that the true secret to power lies not in a scroll, but in believing in himself.[edit]

In ancient China's Valley of Peace, Po the panda works in his father Mr. Ping's noodle shop, but secretly dreams of becoming a kung fu master. He idolizes the Furious Five: Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper, and Crane, who train at the Jade Palace under Master Shifu. One day, Master Oogway, the wise tortoise sage, has a vision that the evil snow leopard Tai Lung will escape from Chorh-Gom Prison. Oogway decides the time has come to choose the Dragon Warrior, the prophesied hero who will wield the Dragon Scroll, which holds the secret to limitless power.

A tournament is held at the Jade Palace to determine which of the Furious Five will receive this honor. Po, desperate to see the ceremony, arrives by a freak accident involving fireworks and crashes down in the middle of the selection. To everyone's shock, Master Oogway points at Po and declares him the Dragon Warrior. The Furious Five are humiliated, especially Tigress, who has trained her entire life for this. Master Shifu is equally dismayed and tries to discourage Po through brutal training methods, hoping the panda will quit.

Po's training is a disaster. He is clumsy, unfit, and cannot perform even basic kung fu moves. The Furious Five mock him openly. Only Master Oogway believes in Po, telling him that there are no accidents and that his destiny is real. Oogway warns Shifu that he must let go of his guilt over Tai Lung's corruption and trust in Po's potential. When Tai Lung escapes from prison in a spectacular action sequence, the valley falls into panic.

Desperate, Shifu has a revelation while watching Po steal dumplings: Po's love of food can be used as motivation. He devises a training method where food becomes the reward for mastering techniques. Po begins to improve rapidly, though he still lacks confidence, and the Furious Five remain skeptical. As Tai Lung marches toward the valley, Shifu believes Po is ready to receive the Dragon Scroll. However, when Po opens the scroll, it is blank, reflecting only his own face. Confused and devastated, Po believes he has failed. Shifu and the Furious Five prepare to face Tai Lung themselves, believing the prophecy was wrong. The film builds to a climactic confrontation as Tai Lung arrives at the Jade Palace, and Po must decide whether to run away or embrace his destiny.[edit]
