Kokoro Kohatsu

Kokoro Kohatsu is a Japanese singer and dancer best known as the lead vocalist of the seven-member boy group PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE. Born in Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture, he rose through the ranks of LDH Entertainment's rigorous training system to become one of the most prominent voices in modern J-pop. His powerful vocal range and charismatic stage presence have defined the group's sound since their debut in July 2022.

As of 2026, Kohatsu stands at the forefront of the group's global expansion efforts. He has successfully navigated the transition from a local trainee to an international performer, headlining tours across the United States and collaborating with artists from the Philippines. His work blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with contemporary urban styles, creating a distinct visual identity that resonates with fans worldwide. [edit]

Kohatsu's journey began far from the bright lights of Tokyo stages. Born on November 9, 2000, in Uruma, Okinawa, he discovered his passion for movement during his early teenage years. Unlike many peers who started in major metropolitan centers, his path was forged in the island prefecture where he spent his formative years. In 2013, at just twelve years old, he entered the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE, an international dance competition organized by LDH Entertainment. This early exposure served as a critical proof of concept for his talent, catching the eye of scouts looking for fresh faces.

Following his participation in the competition, he enrolled at EXPG STUDIO OKINAWA in 2014. The school provided a structured environment where he honed skills in hip-hop, jazz, and other street dance styles under professional instruction. By 2015, he had auditioned for the nationwide search program EXILE GENERATIONS. Although he did not immediately secure a spot in a unit at that time, his performance quality impressed LDH executives enough to keep him within their fold. For several years thereafter, he underwent intensive vocal and dance training, performing in local showcases and student events while waiting for the right opportunity to launch his professional career. [edit]

The turning point arrived when LDH finalized the formation of PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE. Kohatsu was selected as the lead vocalist, a role that demanded both technical precision and emotional depth. The group officially debuted in July 2022 with the single Love Fire, which quickly climbed the Oricon charts. His ability to deliver high-energy performances while maintaining vocal stability became a hallmark of the group's live shows.

Between 2022 and 2023, the group released a string of successful singles including Psycho, Tokyo Spiral, and Kizuna. These releases solidified their status as a top-tier act in the J-pop landscape. In 2024, they continued to dominate domestic charts and embarked on extensive touring schedules across Japan. The momentum carried into 2025, marking a significant shift toward international markets. PSYCHIC FEVER announced their first US tour, headlining venues like Brooklyn Steel in New York and Los Angeles. Kohatsu played a central role in these events, engaging with American audiences and demonstrating the group's cross-cultural appeal.

Recent activities in 2026 include media appearances and special live events such as the LDH to 3 Bon no Guitar concert series. He also performed at the NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK festival alongside other LDH units. His collaboration with Filipino artist Lola Amour on the single The Moment further highlighted his versatility and commitment to connecting with diverse fanbases across Asia. [edit]

Known for his powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence, Kohatsu projects an image of confidence and discipline. His visual style blends traditional Japanese elements with modern J-pop fashion, creating a look that is instantly recognizable. Media outlets often describe him as a versatile performer capable of delivering emotional ballads and high-energy dance tracks with equal proficiency. His social media voice is generally positive and engaging, focusing on updates about upcoming concerts and behind-the-scenes content. [edit]
