Kneecap's self-titled biographical film made history as the first Irish-language film to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award in the NEXT category. The film also earned six BAFTA nominations and secured at least one BAFTA win. It was the highest-budget Irish-language film ever produced. The group's debut album Fine Art and their subsequent album Fenian have cemented their reputation as a bold, politically charged force in hip-hop.
