Khadijah Farrakhan

Khadijah Farrakhan's achievements were measured not in chart positions or box office numbers, but in the lives she touched and the institutions she helped build. As First Lady of the Nation of Islam for over 50 years, she was the longest-serving First Lady in the organization's history. Her leadership of the Million Man March's women's component was a historic moment for Black women's visibility in the civil rights movement. She was awarded honorary doctorates from her alma mater, Winston-Salem State University, and the University of the Nation of Islam. Her title Mother of the Nation reflected the deep reverence she commanded.
