Kewan Lacy

Kewan Duntrell Lacy is an American college football running back currently playing for the Ole Miss Rebels. Born on July 6, 2006, in Dallas, Texas, he has quickly become one of the most promising young talents in the Southeastern Conference. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing around 205 pounds, Lacy combines speed with physicality to dominate defenses.

As a junior in 2026, he serves as a focal point of the Ole Miss offense under head coach Pete Golding. His career trajectory includes a standout season at the University of Missouri before transferring back to his home state school. He holds a 96 rating in EA Sports College Football 27, reflecting his elite status among collegiate athletes. [edit]

Kewan Lacy grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he developed his athletic skills within a competitive sports environment. While details about his early elementary years remain private, his high school career showcased the raw talent that would eventually draw attention from major college programs. He attended high school in Texas, where he honed his abilities as a running back and established himself as a top recruit.

His path to the collegiate level was marked by intense interest from multiple Power Five schools. Instead of staying close to home or following a specific coach immediately, Lacy chose to begin his journey at the University of Missouri. This decision allowed him to gain immediate experience in the SEC. During his single season with the Tigers in 2024, he appeared in six games, recording 104 rushing yards and two receptions. That brief stint proved he could handle the pressure of a major conference and set the stage for his return to Oxford. [edit]

Lacy's rise accelerated after his 2024 season at Missouri. When former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin left to join LSU, rumors swirled that Lacy would follow him to Baton Rouge. In a move that surprised many analysts, Lacy entered the transfer portal but decided to stay at Ole Miss. He committed to remaining with the new coaching staff led by Pete Golding, prioritizing his connection to the university over following a familiar face.

Returning as a junior in 2026, Lacy became a central figure in the Rebels' offense. By September, he had earned spots on three major national watch lists: the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the Maxwell Award, and the Doak Walker Award. These honors recognized him as a candidate for the nation's best player and top running back. Early in the 2026 season, he posted 191 rushing yards on 39 carries against LSU, averaging 4.8 yards per rush. His performance in high-stakes games solidified his reputation as a clutch performer capable of delivering when it mattered most. [edit]

Lacy projects the image of a resilient and determined athlete who values loyalty over fleeting opportunities. His choice to remain at Ole Miss despite the departure of a popular coach defined his public persona as someone focused on long-term development rather than short-term gains. On the field, he is known for his agility and willingness to break tackles. Off the field, he maintains a youthful, professional presence typical of the new generation of NIL-focused student-athletes. [edit]
