The trophy shelf is short: one prize, the editorial department special award at the 8th Enterbrain Entertainment Awards in 2006. What makes it worth noting is what followed. Contest prizes for unpublished manuscripts are common; a debut that goes on to twelve light novel volumes, multiple manga adaptations, two anime seasons, and a video game is not. The award identified a manuscript, and the market confirmed the judgement. The second franchise is the stronger argument. Grand Blue Dreaming has run past 110 chapters since 2014 and reached a fourth anime season in September 2026, a milestone most comedy manga never approach. Neither achievement comes with a trophy, which is how it goes for the gensakusha role. The work outlives the ceremony.
