Kendrick Nunn

Kendrick Nunn is an American professional basketball player known for his scoring ability and three-point shooting. He currently plays for Panathinaikos in the Greek Basketball League and the EuroLeague, where he has established himself as one of the top players in Europe. Nunn's journey from undrafted NBA hopeful to EuroLeague MVP is a testament to his relentless work ethic and skill development.

Standing 6-foot-3, Nunn is a dynamic shooting guard who can create his own shot and knock down deep threes. He led the nation in three-pointers per game during his senior college season and later set the NBA record for most points by an undrafted player in his first five games. His breakout rookie season with the Miami Heat earned him NBA All-Rookie First Team honors and a trip to the 2020 NBA Finals.

After stints with the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards, Nunn moved to Europe in 2023 and quickly dominated. He won the EuroLeague championship in his first season and was named EuroLeague MVP in 2025, also taking home the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy. Fans admire his resilience and the way he turned setbacks into fuel for success. [edit]

Born and raised in Chicago, Nunn picked up a basketball at age two, handed to him by his father Melvin. He attended Simeon Career Academy, where he was teammates with Jabari Parker and helped the Wolverines win four straight Illinois state championships, tying the state record. His No. 20 jersey was retired alongside Parker's.

Nunn represented the USA at the youth levels, winning gold at the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship. He originally committed to Texas A&M but switched to the University of Illinois. There, he made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2014, but was dismissed after his junior season following a legal issue.

He transferred to Oakland University, sitting out a year per NCAA rules. In his senior season, he led the nation with 4.5 three-pointers per game, averaging 25.9 points, and won the Horizon League Player of the Year award. Despite that, he went undrafted in 2018. [edit]

After going undrafted, Nunn joined the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G League for the 2018–19 season. In April 2019, he signed with the Miami Heat and made an immediate impact. He set the record for most points by an undrafted player in his first five NBA games (112 points) and averaged 15.3 points as a rookie, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors. The Heat reached the 2020 NBA Finals, where they lost to the Lakers.

Nunn spent two more seasons with Miami, then signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021. His time with the Lakers was hampered by a bone bruise in his knee that sidelined him for the entire 2021–22 season. He returned in 2022–23 but struggled to find his role, averaging 6.7 points. He was traded to the Washington Wizards mid-season, where he averaged 7.5 points.

In October 2023, Nunn signed with Panathinaikos in Greece. He won the EuroLeague championship in his first season, averaging 12.4 points in Greek League play. In 2024–25, he elevated his game further, averaging 14.0 points and winning the Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy. He was named EuroLeague MVP and earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors, becoming the first Panathinaikos player in the modern EuroLeague era to win the scoring title. [edit]
