Katsuhisa Minami

Katsuhisa Minami has not received the kind of awards recognition that some of his peers have, but his commercial and critical footprint is real. The Fable has sold steadily in Japan and abroad, and its adaptation into two live-action films and a TV anime is a marker of success that few manga series achieve. The anime's international streaming deal with Disney+ put his work in front of audiences who had never read a seinen manga. His debut series, Naniwa Tomoare, ran for 31 volumes, a length that speaks to its durability in a competitive market. That kind of longevity is its own kind of accolade, even without a trophy case.
