Katie Elizabeth Boyd Britt is an American politician and attorney serving as the junior United States senator from Alabama since 2023. She made history as the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Alabama and the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the Senate. Katie Boyd grew up in Enterprise, Alabama, the oldest of four daughters. She was born on February 2, 1982, in Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama. Her father owned a hardware store and later a boat dealership, and her mother ran a dance studio. She worked at the family businesses from a young age. She grew up near Fort Rucker in Dale County, Alabama. At Enterprise High School, she was a cheerleader and graduated as valedictorian in 2000.
