Kahlan Amnell

Kahlan Amnell was born into the Confessor bloodline, a matrilineal inheritance that grants the power to compel absolute loyalty through touch. Her mother was a Confessor, but her father remains unknown. Trained from childhood in the duties of the Mother Confessor, Kahlan became the leader of the Confessors after her predecessor was killed. By the time of the novels, she is the last Confessor, as the D'Haran Empire systematically hunted and killed her sisters. Her first appearance in Wizard's First Rule finds her fleeing across the boundary into Westland, wounded and pursued by Darken Rahl's assassins, seeking the aid of the First Wizard Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander.[edit]

In Faith of the Fallen, she unleashes the Blood Rage to win a battle, nearly dying. Later, in The Pillars of Creation and Naked Empire, she temporarily loses her Confessor powers and struggles with identity.
