Joseph Doucé

Doucé's significance lies not in awards but in his pioneering role at the intersection of Christianity and LGBTQ+ advocacy. He was one of the first religious figures to openly minister to sexual minorities, including those considered the most marginalized. His co-founding of the International Lesbian and Gay Association marked an early effort to organize LGBTQ+ rights on a global scale. While his methods were controversial, his work anticipated the LGBTQ+ affirming religious movements that emerged decades later.
