John Cornyn

John Cornyn's career has been marked by steady advancement through the ranks of Texas and national politics. He is one of the few individuals to have served at every level of the judiciary and executive in Texas before entering the U.S. Senate. His tenure as Senate Majority Whip placed him at the center of Republican leadership for six years. He was instrumental in passing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, a rare bipartisan achievement on gun policy. His ability to navigate both conservative principles and legislative compromise has made him a respected, if sometimes controversial, figure in his party.
