Joey Tribbiani was born in Queens, New York, as the only son in a large Italian-American family with seven sisters. His father, Joseph Tribbiani Sr., was a pipefitter, and his mother, Gloria, was a homemaker. Growing up surrounded by women, Joey developed a charming but simple worldview.
