Joe Thornton's career is marked by remarkable achievements. He is one of only a few players to win the Hart Trophy in a season where he was traded, and his playmaking ability placed him among the all-time greats in assists. He was a perennial All-Star and his leadership was recognized with the Messier Award. His induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2025 cements his status as one of the game's finest centres.
