Jinjin

Park Jin-woo (Korean: 박진우; born March 15, 1996), known professionally as Jinjin (진진), is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter and dancer. He serves as the leader of the K-pop boy group Astro under Fantagio Entertainment.

As the group's leader, Jinjin is widely recognized for his vocal range, rapping skills, and ability to guide his peers through the competitive landscape of the music industry. His leadership style balances professional discipline with a supportive demeanor that has kept the group cohesive since their debut in 2016. Beyond his duties within the main lineup, he has explored solo artistic avenues through sub-units like Jinjin & Rocky and currently participates in the new project ZooniZini alongside member MJ. [edit]

Park Jin-woo grew up in Ilsan, a city in Gyeonggi Province known for its planned urban development. From a young age, he developed a strong interest in performing arts, which eventually led him to pursue a career in entertainment. Before joining Fantagio Entertainment, he participated in the "iTeen Photo Test Cut" audition process. This selection was significant as it identified him as one of the first five trainees introduced to the public by the agency.

The subsequent two years were defined by rigorous training designed to hone his skills in rapping, singing, and dancing. During this period, he worked intensely to refine his stage presence and musicality. The training phase was not merely about technical proficiency but also about building the resilience required for the demanding schedule of an idol. By the time he was ready to debut, he had established himself as a pivotal figure within the agency's roster, setting the stage for his eventual role as the leader of Astro. [edit]

Jinjin's professional career officially began on February 23, 2016, when he debuted as a member of Astro with the mini-album Spring Up. Upon the group's formation, he immediately assumed the role of leader, guiding his fellow members through early challenges and helping to establish their unique identity in the K-pop market. His leadership was instrumental in navigating the group's initial growth and solidifying their fanbase, AROHA.

In 2018, he expanded his portfolio by forming the sub-unit Jinjin & Rocky with former member Rocky. They released the album Love & Livelihood, which allowed Jinjin to showcase his solo capabilities and chemistry with his partner outside the constraints of the full group dynamic. Following the tragic passing of member Moonbin in April 2023, Jinjin publicly promised to look after Moonbin's family, a gesture that became a defining moment in the group's history and resonated deeply with fans.

His artistic evolution continued into 2025 when he was announced as a member of the new sub-unit ZooniZini alongside MJ. This collaboration signaled a new chapter in his career, focusing on a fresh sound and creative direction. Additionally, in June 2025, Fantagio announced that Jinjin had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. This diagnosis granted him an exemption from mandatory military service, allowing him to continue his musical activities without interruption while managing his health. [edit]

Jinjin is portrayed as a responsible, empathetic, and talented leader who balances his professional duties with a genuine connection to his fans. His content tone is often introspective and creative, reflecting his "JinLab" persona. He is known for incorporating bold fashion choices that reflect his personality and the group's aesthetic. Media perception of him centers on his stability and reliability as the group's anchor, particularly during times of collective grief or celebration. [edit]

Jinjin currently holds no placement in the iFANN Global Top 1,000 or any published Top-100 scope list. While his influence as a leader and main rapper is undeniable within the K-pop sphere, the global fame engine has evaluated him without assigning a specific numeric rank at this time. This absence of a score reflects a dynamic landscape where visibility fluctuates based on recent releases and international campaigns rather than a static lack of impact.

The core of his reach remains anchored by AROHA, the official fandom of ASTRO. Though AROHA serves the entire group, Jinjin has cultivated a distinct space known as "JinLab," a nickname visible on his social media that functions as a dedicated laboratory for his artistic output. Through this channel, he shares behind-the-scenes production insights and personal updates, fostering an intimate dialogue with fans who organize streaming parties and coordinate birthday tributes ranging from subway ads to digital campaigns. His bond with the fanbase is defined by deep reciprocity, particularly highlighted during moments of collective grief following the passing of Moonbin, where fans rallied around his promise to care for their fallen member's family. This shared history transforms the standard idol-fan dynamic into a narrative of mutual growth and loyalty, ensuring his solo projects and sub-unit work with ZooniZini receive immediate, passionate support. [edit]

Jinjin refers to his creative space as "JinLab," a nickname used on social media to denote a dedicated area where he shares production insights and personal stories with fans. This concept allows him to present a more introspective side of his artistry beyond standard promotional content.

His diagnosis with an autoimmune disease in June 2025 made headlines for highlighting the health risks faced by idols and the flexibility of regulations regarding military service exemptions for such conditions. This event reshaped the group's future activities and added a layer of contemporary lore to his legacy.

One of the most iconic moments in his career occurred after Moonbin's passing in April 2023. Jinjin's heartfelt promise to support Moonbin's family became a symbol of the group's unity and compassion, often cited by fans as a testament to his character. [edit]

Jinjin maintains a private life regarding his immediate family, keeping details about his parents and siblings out of the public eye. He lives in South Korea and focuses on his career with Astro and his sub-units. While he does not share specific anecdotes about his household or pets publicly, he has occasionally shared glimpses of his personal interests and hobbies through social media interactions with fans. As of 2026, Jinjin is reported to be single. There are no confirmed public romantic relationships or marriages attributed to him. Like many K-pop idols, Jinjin maintains a private personal life, and details regarding his dating history are not publicly disclosed. He has occasionally shared glimpses of his personal interests and hobbies through social media, but these do not include specific romantic partnerships. Fans and media respect his privacy, acknowledging that his focus remains primarily on his career and the well-being of his group members. [edit]

iFANN currently estimates Jinjin's net worth at approximately $2 million. This figure is derived from his earnings as a lead member of the highly successful group Astro, revenue sharing from album sales and concerts, and income generated through his sub-unit projects including Jinjin & Rocky and ZooniZini.

While exact contract details are private, K-pop idols typically earn through performance fees, royalties, and brand endorsements. Jinjin's long tenure with the group since 2016 suggests a steady accumulation of wealth through these channels. His involvement in variety shows and acting projects likely contributed additional income streams over the years. As of 2026, there are no major reports of independent business ventures or real estate holdings that would significantly alter this estimate, though his financial standing remains robust due to the group's consistent commercial success. [edit]

Most accolades received by Jinjin are credited to the group Astro as a whole. Individual awards specifically won by Jinjin are limited in public records, though his contributions to sub-units and leadership have been acknowledged within the industry. [edit]
