Jimmy Carr

Carr's record is one of longevity in a business that usually spits people out. He has headlined British panel television for more than twenty years, hosting 8 Out of 10 Cats from 2005 to 2021 and keeping The Big Fat Quiz of the Year on air since 2004. His stand-up specials stretch from 2004 to 2021, and the Netflix special His Dark Material became one of the most argued-about hours of British comedy of its decade. The awards are real but modest: British Comedy Awards and a Rose d'Or. What sets him apart is volume and consistency, a comic who filled theatres for thirty years without ever needing a hit sitcom.
