Jimi Hendrix is widely recognized as the greatest electric guitarist of all time. Rolling Stone ranked him number one on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. In 1999, TIME named him one of the 100 Most Influential People of the 20th Century. His performance of The Star-Spangled Banner at Woodstock received a posthumous Polk Award.
