Jenniffer González Colón has achieved historic firsts throughout her career in Puerto Rican politics. She is the first and only woman to serve as Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, a position she held for four consecutive terms. She also became the youngest person and first woman to serve as Speaker of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives, breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field. Her election as Governor of Puerto Rico in 2024 marked another milestone, making her only the second woman elected to the position.
