Pirro achieved several historic firsts in her legal career, including becoming the first woman elected as a judge in Westchester County Court in 1990 and the first female District Attorney of Westchester County in 1993. Her work on domestic violence cases established early domestic violence units. She was also named one of the world's 50 Most Beautiful People by People Magazine, an unusual honor for a prosecutor.
