Jean Kahwaji

Kahwaji's most significant achievement was steering the Lebanese Armed Forces through one of the most turbulent periods in the country's modern history. His command from 2008 to 2017 saw the army confront ISIS and other insurgents at the border, maintain internal stability during political crises, and strengthen its role as a national institution. His leadership during the 2014 Arsal battle was particularly notable, as the army successfully pushed back against a serious threat. While he did not collect traditional trophies, his legacy is defined by the resilience and professionalism of the force he led.
