Records
Janja Garnbret is widely celebrated as the greatest competition climber of all time. Her record of 49 World Cup gold medals is unmatched by any climber, male or female. She is the only athlete to win all bouldering World Cup events in a single season (2019). Her two Olympic gold medals make her the most successful Slovenian athlete at the Summer Games. She was the first woman to onsight an 8c route, and in 2026 she sent Bibliographie (9b+/5.15c), the hardest climb of her career. She has been named Slovenian Sportswoman of the Year multiple times and is an ambassador for the sport globally.
