James DeGale's legacy rests on a unique double: Olympic gold and a professional world title, a feat no British boxer had achieved before him. His 2015 IBF championship win over Andre Dirrell in Boston was a landmark moment, and he defended the belt twice, including a thrilling draw with Badou Jack. DeGale also captured European and British titles, proving his dominance at multiple levels. His amateur career was equally decorated, with a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, a bronze at the Commonwealth Games, and two EU Championships silvers. These achievements earned him a place in the British Boxing Hall of Fame and an honorary doctorate from the University of West London.
