Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) South division. The team plays its home games at EverBank Stadium.

Established as an expansion franchise in 1995, the Jaguars were initially part of the AFC Central before the league's realignment in 2002 placed them in the AFC South. The team has experienced periods of success, notably in its early years. From their second to fifth seasons, the Jaguars made the playoffs consistently, securing two division titles and reaching the AFC Championship Game twice. They hold the distinction of being the youngest expansion team to reach a conference championship game and to earn the top seed in their conference, achieving both milestones by 1999. However, since the turn of the millennium, the team has faced challenges, with fewer playoff appearances and division titles. The Jacksonville Jaguars entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1995, initially competing in the AFC Central. Their early seasons saw remarkable success, making the playoffs in four consecutive years from 1996 to 1999. During this period, they won two division titles and reached the AFC Championship Game twice, in 1996 and 1999. By their fifth season, they had achieved the distinction of being the youngest expansion team to secure a conference top seed.

The team moved to the newly formed AFC South division in 2002. After their initial success, the Jaguars entered a more challenging phase. Owner Shahid Khan purchased the team in 2012. While the team has made the playoffs a few times since 2000, including winning the AFC South in 2017, they have not yet reached the Super Bowl.
