Jacek Gmoch's career is marked by two historic achievements that stand out even decades later. As assistant to Kazimierz Górski, he helped Poland win Olympic gold in 1972 and a World Cup bronze in 1974, the country's finest footballing era. Later, in Greece, he delivered Larisa their only league title in 1988, a feat that still astonishes. His double with Panathinaikos in 1984 added to his reputation as a coach who could win with clubs outside the traditional powerhouses.
