It Will Rain

Bruno Mars stepped away from his usual upbeat pop anthems to deliver a soulful ballad for the vampire romance craze with It Will Rain. Released in late September 2011, this track served as the lead single and theme song for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Mars crafted the song alongside his production team, the Smeezingtons, finding inspiration after watching an early cut of the film. The resulting piece blends pop and pop-soul elements to capture the raw pain of a relationship falling apart.

Critics offered mixed reactions, praising Mars's vocal delivery while noting the dramatic intensity sometimes felt over-the-top. Despite the divided reviews, listeners embraced the track immediately. It debuted at number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 before climbing to number 8. The song also topped the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart for multiple weeks and reached the top 10 in Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom where it peaked at number 6. [edit]
