Records

Rush is Liverpool's all-time leading goalscorer with 346 goals, a record that has stood for decades. He holds the Guinness World Record for most goals in FA Cup finals (5) and most goals in Football League Cup history (49). He was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame. In 2012, he received an honorary doctorate from Glyndŵr University. His place in Liverpool folklore was cemented when he was voted third in the club's official '100 Players Who Shook The Kop' poll in 2006.

AwardsRush won the PFA Players' Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year in 1984, the same year he claimed the European Golden Shoe. He was also named PFA Young Player of the Year in 1983. He was the First Division top scorer three times and won the FA Cup Final Man of the Match award in 1986 and 1992. In 1996, he was awarded an MBE for services to football.
