I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend into a Girl (Japanese: 恋する(おとめ)の作り方, Hepburn: Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata; lit. "How to Make a 'Girl' Fall in Love") is an otokonoko romantic comedy manga series by Azusa Banjō. The story follows Kenshiro Mido, a popular high school student who has secretly loved cosmetics all his life. When his plain-looking childhood friend Hiura Mihate allows Kenshiro to practice applying makeup on him, the results are transformative. Hiura becomes interested in presenting femininely, and the two boys begin to realize they are attracted to each other. The series explores themes of self-discovery, gender expression, and the blurring of romantic and platonic boundaries.

The series began as a web comic published through Banjō's Twitter account under the title Osananajimi (♂) o Onnanoko ni Shiteshimatta Hanashi on December 26, 2019. The initial upload received over 120,000 likes within its first month, prompting Banjō to seek formal publication. The series was picked up for serialization in Ichijinsha's Comic Pool magazine starting February 21, 2020. Collected tankōbon volumes have been published by Ichijinsha since September 11, 2020. An English translation has been published by Seven Seas Entertainment since June 2022, with all 11 volumes available in English as of late 2026. An anime television series adaptation was announced in June 2026.

The series has been well received by critics and readers. The character of Hiura in particular has drawn praise for its nuanced portrayal of gender exploration. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the series as "an LGBT+ romantic comedy in which nobody is quite what they seem, and everyone learns to be who they truly are." The series was nominated for the Next Manga Award in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and was voted one of the most popular web manga of 2020. [edit]
