I Just Can't Stop Loving You

Michael Jackson's I Just Can't Stop Loving You is a tender duet ballad that served as the lead single from his 1987 album Bad. Released on July 20, 1987, by Epic Records, the song features singer-songwriter Siedah Garrett, who was a last-minute replacement after Jackson's initial duet partners declined. Garrett, a protégé of producer Quincy Jones, had co-written Man in the Mirror for the same album. She didn't know she'd be singing on the track until the day of the recording session. The song became her first hit since Dennis Edwards' 1984 single Don't Look Any Further. Jackson co-wrote and co-produced the track with Jones, crafting a smooth pop ballad with R&B and adult contemporary influences.

The single hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, R&B Singles, and Adult Contemporary charts, becoming the first of five consecutive number-one singles from Bad. Notably, it was released without a music video. Spanish and French versions, Todo Mi Amor Eres Tú and Je Ne Veux Pas La Fin De Nous, were recorded with translations by Rubén Blades and Christine Decroix, respectively.
