Avşar is one of the most awarded Turkish actresses, with seven major wins including multiple Golden Butterfly Awards. She was the first Turkish actress to have a wax figure at Madame Tussauds Istanbul. In 2018, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Golden Butterfly Awards, and in 2019, an honorary doctorate from Istanbul Aydın University for her contributions to Turkish cinema and culture. She also received the State Medal of Art from the Turkish Ministry of Culture. Her role in Kadın İsterse was ranked #5 on Hürriyet's list of 100 Greatest Turkish TV Characters.

AwardsAvşar has won multiple Golden Butterfly Awards, including Best Actress for Kadın İsterse (1996), Best Female Singer (2003), and Best TV Actress (2005). She received the Turkish Film Critics Association Best Actress award for Ateşten Günler (1988) and a Special Jury Prize at the International Istanbul Film Festival for Yaban Gülü (2012). She also won Best Actress at the Magazinci.com Awards (2015) and Golden Palm Awards (2017).
