Hugh Bonneville

Hugh Richard Bonniwell Williams arrived in Blackheath on November 10, 1963, before adopting the stage name Hugh Bonneville. This British actor built a career spanning decades without ever relying on a single persona, moving fluidly between period dramas and modern comedies. He first gained widespread recognition playing Robert Crawley, the Earl of Grantham, in the ITV historical drama Downton Abbey. The show ran from 2010 to 2015, and his portrayal earned him a Golden Globe nomination alongside two consecutive Primetime Emmy nominations. Critics also honored him with three Actor Awards for this specific role. Bonneville did not let the character fade away when the series ended. He returned to the screen as the same Earl in Downton Abbey (2019), followed by Downton Abbey: A New Era in 2022. Fans will see him again as the Earl in the upcoming Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, scheduled for release in 2025.
