The story begins in the aftermath of Avengers Disassembled, where Wanda Maximoff's mental state has fractured reality itself. Her twin brother Quicksilver and their father Magneto step in, manipulating her unstable powers to reshape the world into a place where mutants rule supreme. This new reality, designated Earth-58163, places the House of Magneto at the apex of society while humans become the oppressed minority.

Most superheroes live out peaceful lives in this altered timeline, completely unaware of their true identities or the original Marvel Universe known as Earth-616. Wolverine stands out among them because he retains his memories of the past. His confusion sparks a chain reaction that leads other memory-holders to question their existence. The group must navigate a world where their roles have been rewritten, from Spider-Man being a famous actor to Iron Man serving as a loyal knight in Magneto's court.

The narrative reaches its breaking point when the heroes realize the cost of this utopia. Wanda ultimately chooses to restore the natural order by declaring "No more mutants." This single act strips nearly all mutants of their abilities, reducing their population from millions to just 198 individuals.
