Trina Vega, the perpetually struggling actress from the original Victorious series, is back. Set years after the events of Victorious, Hollywood Arts catches up with Trina Vega, now a struggling adult actress who has never quite made it big. When a substitute teaching position opens up at her alma mater, Hollywood Arts High School, she jumps at the chance, despite having zero teaching credentials or experience. The show follows Trina as she stumbles through lesson plans, clashes with the no-nonsense Principal Helen (Yvette Nicole Brown), and tries to connect with a new batch of talented, eccentric students who are skeptical of her authority.

The student ensemble includes Qwest (Peyton Jackson), a driven performer with big dreams; Emmy (Alyssa Miles), a serious-minded student who takes her craft very seriously; Pepper (Emmy Liu-Wang), whose unconventional creativity often baffles everyone; Jen Z (Erika Swayze), another student finding her artistic identity; and Oscar (Martin Kamm), who rounds out the group.
