Hiroshi Tanahashi's trophy case is staggering. He won Wrestling Observer Newsletter Wrestler of the Year seven times and Most Outstanding Wrestler five times, more than anyone else in those categories. Tokyo Sports named him MVP seven times. He is one of only two men to hold the IWGP Heavyweight, Intercontinental, and United States Championships simultaneously, completing the Grand Slam. His three G1 Climax victories tie him with Kazuchika Okada behind only Masahiro Chono's five. In 2020, Wrestling Observer readers voted him the Best Wrestler of the 2010s. He was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 2013, still in his prime. Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked him #1 in the PWI 500 four times.
