Records
Hervé Renard holds a unique place in football history as the only coach to win the Africa Cup of Nations with two different countries. His 2012 triumph with Zambia is considered one of the greatest underdog stories in the tournament's history, coming 19 years after the national team's tragic plane crash. In 2015, he repeated the feat with Ivory Coast, again on penalties. His Saudi Arabia team's 2-1 victory over Argentina at the 2022 World Cup was one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history, ending Argentina's 36-match unbeaten run. Renard has been named CAF African Coach of the Year twice and received national honors from both Zambia and Ivory Coast.
