The story unfolds through a series of comedic misunderstandings where simple acts like scrubbing floors or chopping vegetables are interpreted as signs of divine power. While other characters prepare for epic battles, Melody focuses on mastering the art of service. Her dedication to domestic labor stands in stark contrast to the typical power-fantasy tropes found in the genre. The light novel format allows Atekichi to explore these themes while Yukiko provides detailed artwork that brings the chaotic energy of Melody's work ethic to life.

Published originally as a web novel in February 2017, the series found its footing when TO Books acquired it for their TO Bunko imprint in March 2020. The physical volumes quickly gained traction among readers tired of standard reincarnation stories. This success led to a manga adaptation illustrated by Keiko, which began serialization in May 2021 under the Comic Corona brand.
