Haruka Ishida

Haruka Ishida is a Japanese actress and voice actress who rose to prominence as a member of the iconic idol group AKB48. Born in Kawaguchi City, she spent over seven years performing with the group before graduating in 2016 to pursue a solo career in voice acting and variety television.

Today she is best known for her work voicing characters in major video game franchises like Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony and her role as a co-host on the TV Tokyo variety show Dream Creator. Her transition from a pop idol to a respected voice actor has been widely praised by fans and critics alike. [edit]

Haruka Ishida grew up in Kawaguchi City within Saitama Prefecture, where she developed an early fascination with aviation that would later become a defining personal trait. She attended local schools and completed her high school education before entering the competitive world of entertainment. Unlike many idols who are discovered as teenagers, Haruka approached the industry with a clear sense of purpose after finishing her formal schooling.

Her path to stardom began in 2008 when she auditioned for AKB48's third generation recruitment drive. The selection process was notoriously rigorous, filtering out thousands of applicants to find only those with the right mix of talent, charisma, and work ethic. Haruka successfully passed these trials and was selected as one of the members of Team K, marking the official start of her professional journey in the idol industry. [edit]

Haruka joined AKB48 in 2008 as part of Team K, spending several years building her reputation through regular theater performances and group singles. While she was not initially the center of attention, her steady presence allowed her to hone her skills in performance and variety television. In 2011, she achieved a significant milestone by winning a voice acting audition for the anime series AKB0048, where she voiced the character Yūko Oda. This role opened the door for her parallel career as a seiyū.

Her versatility was further demonstrated in 2013 when she took on the challenging role of Hatsune Miku in the Senbonzakura musical, bridging the gap between real-life idols and virtual singers. By 2014, she had expanded her voice acting portfolio with roles in Nobunaga the Fool as Bianchi Țepeş. Her most internationally recognized role came in 2017 when she voiced Kanata Shinonome in the hit visual novel and anime adaptation Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.

On March 31, 2016, Haruka officially graduated from AKB48, ending her tenure as an active idol. Following her graduation, she fully committed to her solo career, becoming a co-host on the TV Tokyo variety show Dream Creator. As of 2026, she continues to work steadily in voice acting and hosts various celebrity gaming events, while also serving as a producer for the idol group unFinale Tokyo. [edit]

Known for her energetic and cheerful persona as "Harukyan," Haruka has successfully transitioned into a more mature aesthetic suitable for variety hosting and character voice work. Media portrays her as a resilient figure who navigated the difficult shift from idol to professional actress without losing her charm. Her warm and approachable personality shines through in her gaming streams and variety show appearances, making her a favorite among fans of both the idol and gaming communities. [edit]

iFANN has evaluated Haruka Ishida's global fame data as of September 2026, but she does not currently hold a placement in the published Global Top 1,000 rankings. While she lacks a formal fandom name documented in iFANN data, her supporters are deeply engaged across multiple platforms. During her AKB48 tenure, she was part of the general "AKB48 Fandom," with fans often referring to her affectionately as "Harukyan." After her graduation, her fanbase has remained active in supporting her voice acting roles, particularly within the Danganronpa community where her character Kanata Shinonome is highly regarded.

Her fans have shown remarkable dedication through the group's unique General Elections ritual, voting consistently for her throughout her career. During her time with AKB48, she earned the nickname "Harukyan" among fans, reflecting her energetic and cheerful personality. Her portrayal of Hatsune Miku in the Senbonzakura musical remains a legendary moment for Vocaloid fans, showcasing her ability to embody a virtual icon.

She maintains a close connection with her fanbase through Instagram and Twitter, where she shares personal updates, travel photos, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of her life. Despite her fame, she keeps her personal life relatively private, especially regarding her family background. [edit]

For years, Haruka maintained a private personal life, adhering to the strict dating bans common in the idol industry during her active tenure with AKB48. Following her graduation in 2016, she gradually opened up about her life outside of entertainment. In July 2024, she announced her marriage to an unspecified individual through her official social media channels. The announcement confirmed her new status as a wife, concluding years of speculation about her personal life. As of 2026, she is married and continues to balance her career in voice acting and variety shows with her new role as a spouse. [edit]

As of 2026, research by the iFANN Editorial Team puts Haruka Ishida's fortune at around $750,000. This estimate reflects her long-term earnings from her time with AKB48, followed by her successful transition into voice acting and variety television hosting.

Her income sources include residuals from anime and game voice acting, particularly from major titles like Danganronpa V3 and Nobunaga the Fool. She earns appearance fees for her work on variety shows such as Dream Creator and participates in celebrity gaming events. Additionally, her role as a producer for the idol group unFinale Tokyo likely contributes to her current financial standing. While specific real estate holdings are speculative, it is reasonable to assume she owns property in the Tokyo metropolitan area given her career longevity. [edit]
