Harlequin

Lady Gaga steps into the role of Harley Quinn with Harlequin, a companion album released on September 27, 2024, through Interscope Records. Produced by Gaga alongside BloodPop, David Campbell, Jason Ruder, and Benjamin Rice, this collection blends traditional pop, jazz, and film score elements to explore the psyche of the DC Comics character. The record features covers of American jazz standards mixed with two original tracks, expanding her work in the genre following collaborations with Tony Bennett. Critics noted how Gaga channels the villain's chaotic energy through the Great American Songbook, creating a concept album that feels both intimate and theatrical.

Promotion included a video filmed at the Louvre for "The Joker" and a televised performance of "Happy Mistake." Days after dropping the album, she played the full set at Los Angeles' The Belasco, an event later captured in the concert film Lady Gaga in Harlequin Live: One Night Only. The project earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and topped the US Jazz Albums chart. [edit]
