Haku Shota

Haku Shota, known professionally as Soul, is a Japanese singer and performer best recognized as a main dancer and rapper for the South Korean boy group P1Harmony. Born in Saitama Prefecture, he brings a unique multicultural perspective to the K-pop industry with his mixed heritage of a Japanese mother and Korean father. His dynamic stage presence and technical dance skills have made him a standout figure within the group since their debut.

As of 2026, Soul continues to lead choreography and rap lines while expanding his influence across Asia and beyond. Fans often point to his distinct visual style, particularly his signature pink hair, as an iconic element of his identity that complements the group's evolving musical concepts. [edit]

Soul spent his early years in Saitama, Japan, where he developed a deep interest in dance and hip-hop culture. Unlike many idols who begin training in Korea at a very young age, Soul pursued his ambitions locally before making the leap to Seoul. He participated in various local dance competitions and auditions, honing his craft until he caught the attention of FNC Entertainment. His journey took a decisive turn when he successfully auditioned for the agency while still living in Japan.

The selection process was rigorous, and Soul stood out among thousands of applicants due to his natural rhythm and charismatic energy. He was chosen as the fifth member to join the lineup that would become P1Harmony. Following his selection, he relocated to South Korea to begin intensive trainee life. During this period, he focused on perfecting his rap flow and mastering complex dance routines alongside future bandmates. This transition from a Japanese teenager to a global trainee marked the beginning of his professional path. [edit]

P1Harmony officially debuted on November 18, 2020, with the digital single "DUN DUN" and the mini-album Debut: Enter the P1Harmony. Soul played a pivotal role in establishing the group's energetic image, anchoring their powerful choreography and delivering sharp rap verses. The group quickly gained traction with their second mini-album The Blue: Us in 2021, which expanded their international reach.

In 2022, Soul helped steer the group through two major releases: The Future: Our Past and The Dark Side of the Moon. These projects showcased the group's ability to blend dark, moody concepts with upbeat tracks, allowing Soul to demonstrate his range. By 2023, they had released Break All the Rules and Go: First Step to Heaven, further cementing their status as a top-tier act. The introduction of Keevin, an AI-generated character, in April 2024 added a futuristic layer to their narrative without diminishing Soul's central role in the human lineup.

Continuing into 2025 and 2026, the group has maintained a relentless touring schedule and released significant albums like The Last: To Be Or Not To Be and the ninth mini-album UNIQUE. Soul remains a core creative force, contributing to the group's signature sound and performing at major international venues including a full concert at Music Bank Barcelona in September 2026.
