    About

Nmixx (Korean: 엔믹스, stylized in all caps) is a South Korean girl group formed by SQU4D, a division of JYP Entertainment. The group is composed of six members: Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin. Originally a seven-piece group, Jinni departed from the lineup on December 9, 2022, for personal reasons.

Nmixx debuted on February 22, 2022, with the single album Ad Mare. In 2023, the group released their first extended play Expérgo and its single "Love Me Like This", which peaked at number 11 on South Korea's Circle Digital Chart. Nmixx's debut studio album Blue Valentine was released in October 2025 to commercial success. The album's lead single became their first number-one song on the Circle Digital Chart, spending four weeks at the top spot. The group also released EPs Fe3O4: Break (2024), Fe3O4: Stick Out (2024), Fe3O4: Forward (2025), and Heavy Serenade (2026). Their single album Entwurf (2022) charted at number 1 on the Circle Albums Chart and number 53 on Billboard Japan Hot Albums. The single album A Midsummer NMIXX's Dream (2023) achieved Triple Platinum certification. As of 2026, no official sub-units have been formed.

    Formation Story

JYP Entertainment first teased Nmixx through a pre-debut project on YouTube from August to November 2021, releasing 14 episodes of members singing, dancing, and rapping under the temporary name "JYPn". The company promoted the group as "all-rounders who are not limited to a specific position," describing them as a "7-7-7 all ace group consisting of 7 vocals, 7 dances, and 7 visual members." In a bold marketing move, JYP sold a limited edition Blind Package of their debut album in July 2021, which recorded 61,667 pre-orders despite no information about the group or its members being disclosed.

The name "Nmixx" combines the letter "N" (representing "now," "new," "next," and the unknown "n") with "mix" (symbolizing combination and diversity), meaning "the best combination for a new era." The group debuted on February 22, 2022, with the single album Ad Mare and lead single "O.O." Among the members, Lily had prior exposure as a former contestant on K-pop Star Season 4, where she placed in the top four. Kyujin joined JYP Entertainment at age 11 through a private audition, having previously trained at Withbill Dance Academy. Haewon auditioned with Beyoncé's "Halo." Nmixx is the first girl group under JYP's 4th Artist Headquarters, SQU4D, and the first JYP girl group in three years after ITZY (debuted 2019). The group's official YouTube channel surpassed 22.4 million views five months after its opening with their pre-debut project.

    Musical Style

Nmixx introduced a musical concept they call "MIXX POP," which blends multiple genres within a single song. Their debut track "O.O" layered pop, hip-hop, and rock into one unpredictable composition. This experimental approach continued with subsequent releases, though the group gradually refined their sound for broader appeal. Tracks like "Love Me Like This" and "Dash" maintained the adventurous spirit while achieving greater commercial traction. Their debut studio album Blue Valentine, released in 2025, incorporated '80s synth-pop influences, showing the group's stylistic evolution. Lyrically, Nmixx often explores themes of self-discovery, confidence, and navigating youth. The group is widely regarded as one of the strongest fourth-generation girl groups in terms of live vocal ability, with members frequently showcasing their skills in acapella covers and live performances. Nmixx achieved their first music show win with "Love Me Like This" on day 400 after debut.

    Cultural Impact

Nmixx represents JYP Entertainment's willingness to push the boundaries of what a K-pop girl group can sound like. Their MIXX POP concept, which fuses disparate genres within single tracks, has been noted as a distinctive approach in an industry often characterized by more conventional song structures. The group's emphasis on vocal prowess has contributed to a broader conversation about live performance standards in K-pop. As the first girl group under JYP's new division SQU4D, Nmixx carried forward the company's legacy of producing strong female acts while forging their own identity. Their pre-debut Blind Package strategy, which generated significant pre-orders without revealing member information, was an unusual marketing experiment that demonstrated the power of brand loyalty. The group is distributed by Dreamus Company and has partnerships with Imperial Music and Republic Records for international distribution.
