The first season establishes the case-of-the-week structure as Nick learns about various Wesen species, from the bear-like Jägerbars to the rat-like Reinigen. He clashes with Adalind Schade, a Hexenbiest working for the Wesen Council, and discovers that his captain, Sean Renard, has his own agenda tied to European royal families.
